This is a very welcoming and gracious house. The unusual design and decor provide a bright, airy atmosphere and all the comforts of home in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The house is only twelve years old with 5000 square feet on two levels.

The south end has cathedral ceilings and consists of: a large, charming, eat-in kitchen, equipped for gourmet cooking, with a screened porch off it; well-stocked library/diningroom off kitchen; broad hallway (almost an extra room) to large, bright livingroom, with fireplace, long trestle banquet table (for large groups or game playing), french doors onto deck; laundry room/two piece bathroom. The north end consists of a large entry hall with stairway (and stairlift) down to lower level; two bedrooms (queen-sized) with doors onto decks, large office, oversized bathroom/exercise room with a large corner tub, accessible showerstall and separate toilet/sink area. There are many windows and great views throughout the main level, and radiant floor heating and HRV throughout the house. The lower level consists of: very large sunroom/bedroom with twin beds and lots of space for plopping down mattresses and sleeping bags for very large groups; large bedroom with queen-sized plus a twin bed; smaller bedroom with double bed; sitting area with pull-out (queen-sized) sofa-bed; three-piece (shower) bathroom; large play/workroom area with ping pong table and sitting area; three more bedrooms with king, double and twins. This house is very well built and ideal for large family groups. Kids can make as much noise as they want downstairs or outside while adults have quiet conversations upstairs.

A screened porch, small deck, large double deck with ramps to an open gazebo in backyard; firepits for bonfires, 140 acres of forest, field and a bit of wetland, lots of running space, hiking and exploration possibilities, marked trail to Styx River and picnic spot at foot of property. Spectacular night-sky viewing.

Our spacious, bright luxury cottage is ideal for large family gatherings, corporate retreats or special events (e.g. weddings, weekend getaways, golfing, fishing, moms’ retreats etc.) looking for a natural environment, clean air and serene setting to escape a busy city life.

Saugeen River system and many small lakes for swimimg fishing, canoeing, kayaking; in easy driving range of golf, downhill skiing (cross-country and snowshoeing out the door), snowmobiling, beaches on Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, Bruce Trail, conservation areas. Music and theatre festivals (Summerfolk, Symphony in the Barn, for example), many artists, musicians and artisans in area, old Amish community and organic stustainable farming abound. Lowest rate CDN$2500/week (Spring/Fall), $2800 July, $3000 August, day and weekend discounts, minimum $600 deposit required on booking, full rental fee 3 months before summer arrivals.
