ACTIVITIES NEARBY
You may wish to visit many other attractions and events that take place on
Manitoulin Island during the summer season.
There are also breathtaking beaches and swimming areas throughout the Island.
We are in close proximity to Michael's Bay, Carter's Bay and Providence Bay.
Some of these beaches offer natural and recurring sand dunes.
You may also wish to hike some of the many trails of Manitoulin including the
Cup & Saucer Trail (2 kms of dramatic cliffs and breathtaking views and over 12
kms of hiking trails). Bridal Veil Falls located off Hwy 540 at the entrance to
Kagawong leads down to the base of the falls and the trail follows both sides of
the stream to the bay. Or you may consider Misery Bay Provincial Nature Reserve
on the south shore of Manitoulin Island with two trails.
Manitoulin Island's picturesque back roads are very popular with cyclists.
Vehicle traffic is generally light and you should watch out for unique features
like logging trucks, slow-moving farm vehicles, and the occasional cattle drive
and yes, we have hills!
There are numerous places for you to drop your canoe on the many shorelines and
to get as close to nature as you can possibly imagine.
A self guided tour of Manitoulin's First Nation Communities is also at your
doorstep with The Great Spirit Circle Trail.
