At Footprints (formerly Joseph's) we specialize in renting to families and groups (maximum of 35) that want an exclusive, natural setting with no neighbours, no noise and no problems. As an added feature, Footprints is an eco-resort that is pushing hard to provide ultimate comfort while reducing its environmental impact to zero. We are beginning with energy conservation and full recycling/composting, while planning to end with hot water and heat provided by solar energy. A completely natural, environmentally friendly, atmosphere.

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION

Footprints has two main buildings: the accommodations and the lounge/cafe. The accommodations contains 10 modern rooms, each with a separate entrance and a 3-piece bathroom. The rooms come fully equipped with all linens and vary from queen rooms for 3 to larger rooms which can sleep 6.

The lounge/cafe is located about 100 yards away, nestled among the trees. The cafe is a fully equipped, modern kitchen where your group can prepare and eat its own meals, or have someone handle that for you. Connected by double doors, the lounge is where most groups relax in the evenings - watching movies, playing games or just talking.

EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION

Built around a small, beautiful kettle lake, Footprints offers exquisite, natural, surroundings. Family groups appreciate the fact that the entire lake can be viewed easily at all times, so that they can relax while their children play. Other groups appreciate the complete privacy, with no worries over noises disturbing the quiet.

The lake offers swimming, fishing and animal viewing. Recreational activities include volleyball, badminton, mini-soccer field, horseshoes, games, darts, etc. At night, most groups gather around the campfire area for marshmallow roasts or simply quiet conversation.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY

Bancroft is the mineral capital of Canada and gem and mineral tours can be taken with a guide or by yourself. Algonquin and Silent Lake provincial parks offer numerous walks, canoeing, wolf howls and other natural highlights. Golf courses are plentiful as well as hundreds of local events/activities including theatre groups, horseback riding, art and craft shows, music, etc., etc.

Rates vary according to the season. As all guest receive exclusive use of the property, there is a minimum room rental of 5 rooms. Daily rates vary seasonally from $59 - $89

Weekly rates from $149 - $269
