SPECIAL FEATURES

We created KINS Retreat to experience the best of all worlds: country tranquility, peaceful vistas, serene sunsets, glorious wilderness…gently combined with the convenience and advantages of pampered city-style luxury. This 4,500 square foot executive cottage is located in the heart of Ontario’s magical cottage country on crystal clear Fisher Lake near Algonquin Park. The freshwater lake is fed by five separate springs and our property features a safe sandy beach with a shallow incline (perfect for children). Our 2,300 feet of graceful shoreline is surrounded by 50 acres of private natural forests, complete with hiking trails and beaver ponds.

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION

There are six bedrooms and a pull out double sofa bed in the library, so the cottage sleeps 16 people comfortably. There are also two queen size air mattresses and a pump for extra guests.

On Second Floor there is a large room has a western exposure, a lovely reading alcove, two dressers, a six-foot closet and king size bed. Green Room: This cozy corner room has a southern and western view of the lake, one dresser, 5’ closet and queen size bed. Yellow Room: This beautiful sunny corner room has a southern, eastern view of the forest, a dresser, 5’ closet and queen size bed. Blue Room. This eastern room, gets full morning sun and beautiful view of the forest, has a dresser, 6’ closet and king size bed.

Walk out ground level has a window overlooking the patio, a dresser, four-poster double pine bed and 4’ closet. Bunk Room. This double size room overlooks the patio, has a queen size bed and a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and single on the top. With storage hooks making it easy for the kids to keep their stuff within reach. All bedrooms are equipped with mattress covers, pillows, and bedspreads. Bring your own sheets, pillowcases and blankets.

EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION

KINS Retreat is just three hours north of Toronto, accessible by car, train, bus or plane. The town of Kearney is ten minutes away and features shopping, grocery store, liquor and beer store, etc. Wider shopping and recreation facilities are found 30 minutes south in Huntsville and 20 minutes north in Burk’s Falls. Enjoy many varied activities in the area, including four wonderful golf courses nearby, canoeing in Algonquin Park, bird watching, skiing, snowmobiling… or just sitting back under a pine tree to take in the natural granite outcroppings.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY

Enjoy your favourite CD’s on the stereo system; the cathedral ceiling has great acoustics. Energize over a game of scrabble or euchre overlooking the lake, watch a good movie on the VCR or DVD, enjoy the conversation and cool breeze on the screened-in porch. Or just curl up and read a good book on the one of the sofas surrounding the two storey stone fireplace. There are lots of games, scrabble, monopoly, multiple decks of cards, books, and videos. Complete games room for your enjoyment with professional 5' x 10' pool table (both snooker and pool balls), card/poker table with chips, stereo system, and dart board. Beach, enjoy a paddle around the lake in the canoe or relax in a chaise lounge. There are no large motorboats or sea-doos on the lake so you can really experience the peace and quiet you crave.
