Only remaining availability for '09 June 13, Aug. 29 and all of Sept. This is a semi-wilderness area. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing are excellent. Cottage comes with one mile of shoreline to explore and many miles of scenic hiking in the surrounding conservation area. Fishing is excellent...pickerel, large and small mouth bass and pike.

 
SPECIAL FEATURES
You've found it! The perfect place for your vacation. Mellon Lake is a three mile long lake on the southern most reaches of the Canadian Shield, just 20 min. north of Napanee. With only 15 cottages on the lake, this is a quiet retreat, ideal for canoeing, kyaking and fishing or just laying back and recharging your batteries. The cottage comes with one mile of shoreline to explore. Mellon Lake Conservation Reserve and sheffield Conservation Area surround the lake and provide many miles of scenic hiking. Mellon Lake is 120 feet deep, spring fed and pristine. It is the headwater of the Moira River system so the water is clear and clean, a nature lover's paradise.


INTERIOR DESCRIPTION
This cottage has three bedrooms, two double and a single plus one of the two livingroom sofas opens to a double bed. Although there is no electricity on this lake, you will be comfortable with propane stove, lights and two fridges as well as hot water. The cottage is tastefully decorated and the kitchen has all the utensils, dishes etc. that you will need. There is a large screened room off the kitchen. The dining room has a wood burning stove. Eat in dining room, kitchen or screened room or picnic by the lake.


EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION
The cottage is located just yards from the water and dock. Through creeks, lakes, wetlands and rivers,30km. of wilderness kayaking and canoeing begin at the dock. The most beautiful lake south of Algonquin Park. Fire pit by the lake...wood provided. Boat launch. The cottage is surrounded by miles of forest and ruggedly beautiful Canadian Shield


ACTIVITIES NEARBY
After a short drive north, you can visit beautiful Bon Echo Provincial Park and view the native rock paintings on the cliff face. There is a museum on site and frequent special events. Travel south to explore the Hell Holes Caves and nature trails.


RATE INFORMATION
CDN $750 per week. 50% deposit to book and the remainder due upon arrival. No weekend rentals. This is not a party cottage. Renting from June 1 to Sept 30. No personal water craft (Sea Do)
