Can I update my cottage rental listing?
Absolutely! You can update your cottage rental listing online as often as you need and that includes photographs. To update your cottage rental advertisement go to the Owners page, and login using your password. The cottage listing update process very easy to use and it is FREE! 

I have a Cottage Rental Resort. What should I do?
List your cottage resort under For Rent, select Cottage Resort in cottage type.  We charge $25 extra for commercial listings with more than one cabin.

How to upgrade my listing? 

Login in through the owners page, and then select Upgrade next to your property.  Our Preferred listings include a link to your web site, rental availability calendar, guest book, map, and much more.  The Premium listings get you a top placement, and highlight your property with any specials you may be offering to your clients. 

Can I link to my own web site?
Certainly! All paid cottage listings include a prominent link to your web site.   In fact, to help you see how many time we have linked to you, each jump is appended with a “?source=COTTAGEPORTAL.com” to ease your tracking.

Do you limit the amount of text one can post?

No! The amount of text you can post is unlimited.  Other competing cottage rental advertising services charge you as much as .25/c per each extra word.

How many people visit my listing? 

How many visitors your get will depend on your listing type.  You can monitor the number of hits your individual listing gets by looking in the far right bottom corner.  You will find there a hit counter which gets updated when someone visits your page. 

Are there any other fees?
No! Our philosophy is to keep the site simple and easy to use, and that includes pricing. There are no hidden fees. Other sites may charge you extra for photos, updates, or a setup fee. We don’t, see our pricing for details.

Does CottagePortal advertise?
Yes! We advertise online to have a high search engine ranking.   We also advertise in cottage magazines, such as Cottage Magazine, Cottage Life. Look around, you may see our roadside billboards on your way over to cottage country.

Can you explain how calendar works? 

It is easier for you if you have a single central calendar, rather than a separate one on each web site, such as ours.  As such, we link to your shared calendar either on your web site or at another location. 

What if I have more than one property?
Just login under your user name, and add additional properties there. Users who have more than one cottage listed can see status of all their properties in a comprehensive list. Oh, and of course we offer discounts for more than one listing.

What if my property is located outside of North America, such as in Europe?
If you do not see your country in our listing, just send us an email. We will add it promptly.

What if I am a cottage sales or rental agent or broker?
We welcome your listings. In fact, you will see how easy it is to manage multiple properties. Your contact information would appear on all such listings.

I already have my property listed with a realtor, can I list it here?
You should discuss this with your listing agent beforehand, as contracts may vary. Your real-estate agent may list with us directly. There are no restrictions if it is a “For Sale by Owner” property.

What am I getting when I use CottagePortal?
CottagePortal is an advertising service. Placing an ad with CottagePortal is like placing an ad in a newspaper for a private rental or sale. The renter or buyer contacts you, the owner directly. We are not agents or brokers.
