Blazing, lingering scarlet sunsets and swimming are the speciality here on this spectacular Lake Huron private cove. Calm clear waters, ideal for children of all ages as gradual shallow entry... clean sheltered swimming right out front with some sand and stone, plus kids sandy gradual entry platform/sundeck area beside cottage. Older kids and adults can swim further out the cove to end of point for greater adventure. Early morning fishing along the shore can be very rewarding!.........

Stunning property with charming vintage "English Style" stone cottage sits nestled in the trees directly on the water, and fronts on a very quiet cove with exceptional lake views. Extend the evening sitting by the water’s edge campfire and marvel at the awesome setting sun, the signal of the end of another perfect day at the lake. Grassed yard extends beyond the trees onto a private point to afford panoramic shoreline views. Just walk off the grass onto shore, or kids can fish right off the dock.

A real sense of peace and tranquility exists in part as no noisy water traffic enters cove allowing you to peacefully swim or canoe, and shorebirds and waterfowl to bring their young to feed and play!

The unique upper level was added 35 years ago for more space, and was designed with a period mansard roof in keeping with the charm of the original dwelling. Upstairs are 3 spacious bright bedrooms all with windows (including 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, plus master has huge 4-poster bed!), a 4-pc bath and a large bright playroom for kids. On the main floor, you can enjoy a bright 15 foot entry room with skylights and ceramic floors, kitchen, dining room with lots of windows, spacious L-shaped living room with stone fireplace with glass doors including adjoining kids TV/play area with 2 sofas, plus another 4-pc bath for added convenience.

Grounds are dotted with flowering ground covers, stone walkways and paths, and raised stone ledges to sit and ponder after a bike ride on the peaceful gravel road, or early morning dip. Property is ideal for shore strolls or settle into a comfortable lounge chair at the water's edge while the children play and swim in the shallow waters. After a busy day of hiking or exploring in nearby Sauble Beach, Wiarton or Tobermory, settle back on the dock with a drink. Maybe you're a late-niter, so take in the amazing display of stars - only visible because no city lights exist. Very likely the "Milky Way" will emerge. All this while roasting marshmallows over a bonfire. Come and enjoy a restorative holiday mixed with relaxation and exploration!

We over packed by a mile with lots of household items you often won't find at a rental cottage, and then found we needed none of them. Your attention to detail is meticulous and we were just really pleased with every aspect of our holiday. My daughter had a fabulous time playing in the large yard where we also picnicked and had little nature walks. She spent hours and hours at the waterfront gathering and stacking stones, and we enjoyed swimming together in the nice clear water. Everyone loved the fire pit overlooking the water. "Sunset Cove" it was indeed for us as we watched the sunset nightly and even witnessed an amazing meteor shower that we will remember forever. Our family has such a wide range of ages from toddler to seniors, and there was something for everyone. We enjoyed the swimming, the sunny waterfront and fire pit, the very comfortable cottage interior and fireplace and the convenience of having two washrooms. We found boat rental very close by and enjoyed relaxing fishing as well as the beach at Red Bay and Howdenvale where the endless sandy shallows appealed to everyone.
