SPECIAL FEATURES

Look across to the beautiful granite point across the Bay . Walk in to swim or swim and fish right off the dock. The fishing is excellent. The water is clean and we are fortunate enough to have a family of loons living in the bay. The cottage is South facing with multi-level decking. There is all day sun and lots of spots with shade for your summer enjoyment. There are many tourist attractions nearby. The Famous Liftlocks, The Canadian Canoe Museum, Wildfire Golf course and many quality smaller courses, horseback riding, fine dining and lots of festivals to attend. In the fall enjoy the many fall tours, fairs and beautiful colours on hiking trips or drives. Visit the famous Native drawings and interpretative centre at the Petroglyphs or try caving in the limestone caves at Warsaw caves.Check out the many local galleries any time. In the winter, cross country ski trails are nearby.

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION

The Stoney Lake Cottage is year round and was just completed in 2005. It is tastefully furnished with antique pine floors in the kitchen, living and dining areas. The bedrooms are carpeted. Large windows provide a view from East to West;additionally, a walkout from the living room leads to a small deck which is perfect for eating breakfast or watching lake activities. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern as is the 4 piece bath. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has a lower double and an upper single.

EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION

Stairs bring you down to the back of the cottage and the wrap around deck. The cottage has extensive multi-level decking with lots of different sitting and eating areas. The kitchen at the back looks right out to a pink granite rock outcropping which runs the width of the property. From the side door you can use the BBQ or head down stairs to the deck and floating dock at the lake. At the waterfront you can walk in to swim or dive and fish off the floating dock. At the water there is a wood burning fireplace great for roasting marshmallows and listening to the loons call. The dock is large enough for a picnic table (with sun umbrella) and plenty of lawn chairs.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY

Just up the road is the famous Petroglyphs Provincial Park and Eel'S creek which is famous for its canoeing. Woodview General Store carries souvenirs and local writers' works. Lower Stony Lake excursions can be arranged at Viamede Resort where parts of Cheaper By The Dozen 2 where filmed. Absolutely fine dining can be booked at Mount Julian just minutes away. Lakefield and Peterborough have many festival and musical events all summer. There is lots to do.
